At some point in our life, we have experienced jealousy; whether seeing your boyfriend talking to someone else or having your girlfriend hug another guy, jealousy seems to creep up in any relationship. This feeling can arouse suspicion in the relationship and make questions like “Is he really into me?” “or even “Is she cheating on me?” fill your mind. Jealousy usually comes from the person feeling insecure about their relationship. The suspicion that started from that one hug or long talk could just end up being pointless to worry about in the first place.
A way to prevent this “green monster” from creeping up is to have trust in who you are dating. Trust allows these silly suspicions to not even come to mind. Allowing this feeling to overcome you can end up pushing the relationship you have further apart. Another way to get over jealousy is to accept the fact that there are going to be other girls or guys talking to whom you like. Focusing more on who your boyfriend is talking to in the hallways rather than just focusing on the two of you can weaken the relationship.
However, keep in mind that at times, jealousy might be good. lf you’re feeling jealous it also shows you care. It’s okay to be jealous from time to time–but keep in mind that it matters how you deal with your feelings.
